Become an airline pilot in under 15 months
(plus how I saved $50,000 on flight training)
Fast track your flight training like I did
You’re here reading this page because you want to do the same thing as I did:
Become a professional pilot as your career 2.0 so you can love your work, get paid (really!) well, and work less than 40 hours a week, right?
If that is the case, then the Accelerated Flight Training program is for you.
Why?
Many aspiring pilots get trapped in costly lesson after lesson, uncertain if they’re making the decisions needed to maximize the value of each lesson, while also minimizing the high costs and long timeline involved with flight training.
The Accelerated Flight Training program cuts through the confusion and equips you with the knowledge and strategies you need to replicate my success and ignore all the people who will tell you that it can’t be done.
7 FAA ratings in 91 days
On May 4th, 2023, I started my FAA flight training with 100 hours and a Canadian private pilot’s license that I’d earned.
Just 91 days after enrolling in flight school, I’d earned 7 FAA ratings:
Private pilot, instrument rating, commercial pilot, multi-engine rating, CFI, CFII, and MEI.
Just 10 months after that, I received a job offer to join the largest regional airline in the US as a First Officer.
You’re not sure whether to go Part 61 or Part 141
For most people, the shortest path to getting paid to fly (vs paying to fly) is to earn a CFI and become a flight instructor.
Many in the industry called this the “Zero to Hero” journey.
Seems simple, right?
Well, I can assure you that it is not nearly as simple to go from zero to hero as you might think.
In fact, now that I’ve done it, and learned all that I have, I can tell you that there are more ways to make mistakes that cost you time and money than you can possibly imagine!
For example, should you go Part 61 or Part 141? The choice you make here can mean the difference between becoming a CFI in 6 months vs 18 months…not to mention all the extra cash you’ll spend along the way.
You don’t know which flight school to pick
Once you’ve decided on which route you wish to take (Part 61 vs Part 141), the next thing you need to decide on is which flight school to enroll in… and let me tell you, not all schools are created equal!
Pick the wrong school, and you could easily extend your timeline by 6-12 months… or more.
Pick the right school, and you could cut your tuition by 40%.
So how do you pick the right school and avoid the wrong one?
It all comes down to knowing what to look for, and what questions to ask.
For example, I can think of 5 things that really great schools have that average schools don’t… and if you pick a school without these 5 key ingredients, better get ready for delays, frustration, and a ton of wasted money.
You’re uncertain about which ratings to get
Now that you have picked a flight school, which ratings should you get?
Which are mandatory, and which are optional?
I thought I needed them all, so I spent the money to earn them all up front.
That was a mistake.
Knowing what I know now, I could have easily saved myself $12,000… not to mention all the time & effort needed to study for the exams, do the flying, the ground school, etc…
Don’t do what I did and pay for every rating up front. There is a better (smarter & faster) way.
Stop doing a 40-50 hour/week job you no longer enjoy
Right now, you’re working a job that isn’t fulfilling and doesn’t give you the flexibility you need or the pay you want.
Your vacation time is limited. Your boss isn’t the best to work with.
You get passed over for promotion. You have to commute to an office.
You have no control over your own schedule.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Go from private pilot to highly paid CFI in as little as 5 months
The biggest flight school in the nation has a program that is 10 months long and costs $120k.
I don’t know about you, but I didn’t want to spend that long and I certainly didn’t want to spend that much.
Fortunately, you don’t have to either. There are a lot of ways you can save time and money.
For instance, I learned there are 3 instructor ratings but you don’t need all three! How would you know that? You really wouldn’t unless you have someone guiding you.
Instead of 10 months, I did it in 90 days. Even if you don’t want to go as aggressively as I did, doing it in 5 months or less is very possible.
Instead of $120k, I invested just shy $50k….and in hindsight, I could have done it for just $35,000 if I didn’t waste money on the extra instructor ratings that I really didn’t need.
Be qualified to receive a job offer from a regional airline in as few as 15 months
In order to be qualified to fly for a regional airline, you have to have the correct ratings (commercial pilot, instrument rating, multi-engine rating).
You need enough of the right type of hours.
All hours are not created equal.
Cross country hours are different from regular flight hours. Instrument (or simulated instrument) hours are different from visual flight hours, multi-engine hours are different from single engine hours, turbine time is different from piston engine time, night hours are different from day hours, etc.
Learn all of the right ratings you need to be a professional pilot.
Get all the free travel perks that pilots enjoy
Did you know that as an airline pilot, you get free unlimited travel?
And it’s not just with the airline you fly for. Most employers have partnerships with various different airlines you can fly with for free.
You get healthcare, disability insurance, and did I mention great pay?
If you live near your home airport, you’re really only working a half-time job (20 flight hours per week).
No more sitting in meetings, stressing out about projects with too many tasks, or managing people reporting to you.
Become an airline pilot the FAST way
In order to be qualified to fly for a regional airline, you have to have the correct ratings (commercial pilot, instrument rating, multi-engine rating).

Your instructor
My name is Trent Dyrsmid, and I’m the #1 fastest person to go from private pilot to airline pilot.
Not only did I earn 7 ratings in 91 days, but over the following 12 months, I earned over $100,000 as a flight instructor, I received a job offer from the largest regional airline in the US, and I logged the 1,500 hours I needed to earn an ATP and become an airline pilot.
In other words, my story and my results are proof that if you want to become a professional pilot as badly as I did, and you are willing to work as hard as I did, you can make it happen far faster and for much less than anyone will tell you is possible.
Many years ago, a mentor of mine told me that the key to his success was to avoid re-creating the wheel.
Instead, he said to find someone who’s achieved the results you want to achieve, and then model their processes for getting there.
